FRONTIERRA SERVICES

Climate Risk Assessment & Nature Intelligence Services

Frontierra provides geospatial intelligence and analytics for businesses that need to understand, assess, and act on climate and nature risks. Using satellite data, AI, and advanced spatial analysis, we deliver location-specific insights that go beyond sector averages, giving decision-makers a clearer picture of real-world exposure.

Our services span four areas: climate risk, nature and biodiversity, deforestation monitoring, and value chain mapping. Each reflects deep specialist expertise, grounded in satellite data, geospatial analysis and years of applied experience across some of the world's most complex environmental challenges. Frontierra’s Climate and Nature Intelligence Platform is how that expertise is made accessible at scale, giving clients direct access to the same intelligence that underpins our advisory work, at any location, worldwide.

OUR SERVICES

Specialist expertise, grounded in satellite data

01 Climate risk assessment

Climate change is reshaping the risk profile of assets, portfolios, and supply chains. Frontierra's climate risk assessment service delivers location-specific analysis of physical and transitional risks — tied to the precise location and spatial footprint of your assets, not broad regional projections.

Our assessments support disclosure requirements under ISSB (S1 and S2), TCFD, TNFD, the EU Taxonomy, and SFDR. The primary value, however, is practical: knowing where your exposure lies and what it means for long-term performance and resilience.

Key applications:

  • Pre-investment due diligence for financial institutions and asset managers

  • Asset- and Portfolio-level climate risk screening and scenario analysis

  • Regulatory compliance and climate-related disclosure (ISSB, TCFD, EU Taxonomy)

  • Site selection and asset-level risk management for renewable energy developers

02 Nature and Biodiversity

An estimated half of global GDP is dependent on nature. Yet for most businesses, nature-related risks remain invisible — buried in supply chains or tied to land use patterns that traditional data sources cannot resolve.

Frontierra maps nature risks and opportunities at the asset level using satellite-derived metrics and proprietary indicators. We apply combined classifications with transparency provided on the the constituent parts, including: the Exposure to Nature-Related Issues (ENRI) rating for risk, and the Opportunity for Nature-Positive Practices (ONPP) rating for opportunity - giving our clients a clear framework for prioritising action and supporting TNFD-aligned disclosure

Key applications:

  • Nature dependency and impact screening across asset portfolios

  • TNFD-aligned disclosure and biodiversity risk assessment

  • Pre-investment nature risk due diligence

  • Nature-positive strategy development for corporates and financial institutions

03 Deforestation and EUDR Compliance

The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requires companies and financial institutions to demonstrate that the commodities they buy, sell, or finance are not linked to deforestation after 31 December 2020. Self-reported questionnaires are no longer sufficient.

Frontierra uses high-resolution satellite imagery to deliver evidence-based deforestation assessments across sourcing locations, portfolios, and supply chains — covering beef, palm oil, soy, rubber, cocoa, coffee, wood products, as well as mining and other soft commodities. Outputs support EUDR-compliant due diligence statements, and our service is built to integrate with existing client systems and scale efficiently by volume.

Key applications:

  • Deforestation risk screening for investment portfolios and lenders

  • EUDR compliance and due diligence statement production

  • Supply chain deforestation exposure assessment for food, agriculture, and consumer goods companies

  • Pre-regulatory readiness for financial institutions with agricultural or forest-risk exposure

04 Value Chain Mapping

For many businesses, the most significant climate and nature exposure sits upstream or downstream in the suppliers and sourcing regions that underpin their operations. For Financial Institutions, this exposure lies within their investment or lending portfolios. Frontierra's value chain mapping service applies geospatial analysis to trace environmental risks across global supply chains and portfolios, helping clients understand where material risks are concentrated and how they flow.

Key applications:

  • Supply chain risk mapping for agricultural and land-use dependent commodities

  • Environmental due diligence for M&A, lending, and investment decisions

  • Traceability and transparency reporting for sustainability disclosures

  • Climate and nature risk exposure analysis across complex, multi-tier supply chains and portfolios
